Escape into the heart of the Carpathians with a refreshing hike through Râu Sadului, a little ecovillage nestled at the base of the mountains. The whole area, Hay Hut County, is one of the best preserved traditional regions in southern Transylvania. Hence, a place where life still follows the rhythm of nature and seasons.
The hike leads us along refreshing forest trails shaded by fir and pine trees, through open meadows dotted with traditional wooden huts, rustic hay stacks, and panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Along the way, we may pass sheepfolds, where you can experience a taste of authentic rural life and even stop for a picnic with local products or a home-cooked lunch at the sheepfold.
Thus, this is more than just a hike — it’s a moment of tech detox, a breath of clean mountain air, and a step into a world of biodiversity. You’ll discover not just stunning landscapes, but also the living heritage of Transylvania’s mountain communities.
